PORT HARCOURT – Gov. Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State has urged Nigerians to stand firm and remain steadfast in spite of difficulties they face in order to achieve greatness for the nation.
Amaechi made the call on Friday in Port Harcourt in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims in the country.
He urged Muslims to pray for peace and stability of the nation, as well as hope and work for the best.
According to him, Nigerians must not lose hope in achieving greatness as a nation.
He said “we must, in spite of our differences, stand firm, steadfast and together. This is why we celebrate together.’’
He urged Muslims and all Nigerians to remember the oppressed and the needy among them and to share with them in order to give them a sense of belonging during the celebration and beyond.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Rivers State, I wish you peace and serenity and the best of the season,’’ Amaechi said.
He assured Muslims in state of his continued support. (NAN)
