Kaduna – The wife of Kaduna State Governor, Ummi El-Rufai, has commended the Muslim organisation, Nasrul lahi-li Fathi Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), in their efforts towards peace building across the state.
Mrs El-Rufai gave the commendation on Thursday in Kaduna during the NASFAT Kaduna Women’s week celebration, with the theme: ‘The Muslimat as Catalyst for Maintaining Peace and Harmony’.
The governor’s wife, who was represented by Hajiya Zainab Muhammed, described women as peace builders.
Mrs El-Rufai urged the women to come out and contribute more to the development of the nation.
”It is now that we are having more women contributing more of their quota in peace making and thanks to Allah, everything is working fine,” she noted.
“So, virtually the woman has a very big responsibility, we remember the days of the holy Prophet (peace be upon him), when women were part of the ‘Da’wah’.
”So it is important that women know that the peace of this nation is in their hands and they can do much better in making sure that there is peace and harmony.
“They should make sure that they bring up the children in the way of Allah, make sure that our husbands, brothers or uncles, are put back on track if they are deviating” she said.
Mrs El-Rufai urged women to seek for knowledge at all times.
“You know as Muslim women, we need to be more enlightened, remember more of what Allah has said and our duties to the nation at large.
“Remembrance makes people closer to God. So, it is important that we keep up this good work and NASFAT has been doing it and l pray that Allah will give you the strength to continue to do more.
“We are not just in this world to enjoy, but to also worship Allah because we would be accountable for whatever we do,” she added.
