Daura (Katsina State) – The Emir of Daura in Katsina, Alhaji Farouk Umar, has reiterated commitment of traditional institutions to support government’s policies and programmes, to fast track sustainable social and economic development in the country.
Umar stated this during the investiture of two newly appointed title holders, Usman Ibrahim and Kabir Yamel, on Saturday in Daura.
He said that community leaders would continued to support viable projects initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari, to facilitate its successful implementation for the overall well being of the people.
The monarch lauded the presidential initiative on agricultural transformation, roads, rail and power development programmes, adding that the projects would propel national development.
Umar lauded Buhari over the establishment of the University of Transportation and Federal Polytechnic, Daura, stressing that the gesture would enhance government presence in the area.
He revealed that his council had mobilized people to pray for peace and stability in the country, adding that: “we will not relent in this all important task until success is achieved”.
News agency of Nigeria reports that Ibrahim was inaugurated as Santurakin Kasar Hausa with Yamel as Sarkin Aikin Kasar Hausa.
