Federation Cup: Nasarawa United beat FC IfeanyiUbah to book semi-finals place

Ilorin – Nasarawa United Football Club of Lafia on Wednesday booked a place in the semi-finals of the 2015
Federation Cup competition with a lone goal victory over FC IfeanyiUbah.

The quarter-final game played at the Kwara Stadium Complex in Ilorin saw former ABS FC player Thomas Zenke nodding home the only goal in the 55th minute.

Zenke connected a cross from Azango Philip to give the Solid Miners the semi-final ticket.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that injuries forced Nasarawa United to make two early substitutions in the match.

This was when the duo of Amos James and Ugochukwu Leonard were injured in the 9th and 24th minutes respectively.

Speaking after the game, the coach of Nasarawa United, Kabiru Dogo, described the match as a difficult one.

He said the early substitutions almost destabilise his team’s game but maintained that the substitutes played well to balance it.(NAN)
