ILORIN – The First batch of 501intending pilgrims from Kwara State were on Sunday transported from Ilorin International Airport to Saudi Arabia.
The Pilgrims left on board a Boeing 787 Airline at exactly 6.34 p.m. [eap_ad_1] The airport was packed with friends and families of the intending pilgrims who were there to see their loved ones off.
The chairman of Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Usman Olosun, said that the screening was conducted in a peaceful and smooth manner as the intending pilgrims obeyed the laid down rules guiding the pilgrimage.
He urged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Nigeria as they would be in the midst of other nationals in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The Kwara Amir-Hajj, Olupo of Aje-isepo, Oba Sikiru said that the pilgrims were well prepared to perform this year’s Hajj.
He urged the pilgrims to be steadfast, prayerful and committed to almighty Allah while in Mecca and to pray for peace in Nigeria. (NAN)
