Lagos -The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) on Saturday in Lagos inaugurated an Anti-Corruption Unit to assist the Federal Government in its fight against corruption.
This is contained in a statement signed by the association’s National Chairman, Mr Increase Uche, and the Vice Chairman, Mr Stephen Ibe, and made available to newsmen.
According to the statement, the officers are expected to find out the remote and immediate causes of alleged corruption at the nation’s international gateways (ports) and the solutions to them.
The statement said that the officers would work closely with the anti-corruption units of government agencies such as the Nigeria Customs Service, Nigerian Ports Authority, the Police, and other sister associations.
“This is with a view to achieving a coordinated approach in the anti-corruption war.
“Freight forwarders and NAGAFF members in particular, who are patriotic, are expected to enlist in the re-branding of Nigeria using the tools of anti-corruption crusade,’’ the statement said.
