Abuja (Sundiata Post) — Youths of Mbahimin in Ipayongo area of Benue State, on Thursday, staged a peaceful protest against alleged killing of two villagers by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

The latest attack is coming less than 24 hours, after the Army launched an operation to flush Fulani herdsmen from Southern Kaduna and some parts of Plateau and Benue states.

The Fulani were said to have attacked the village Wednesday evening, killing two people.

In reprisal, the youths blocked the Markudi – Oturkpo road, preventing eastern bound motorist from going through.

As at the time of this report, the youths stopped all vehicles going to the east, searching for people of northern extraction.

Sundiata Post reports that there were no security agents on ground to disperse the angry youths, as motorists and commuters were left to their own fate.
