Police and prosecutors said that the 26-year-old man, who was arrested on Monday, had admitted his part in the arson attack on the gym hall in the town of Nauen, 40 kilometres to Berlin.
Early in March, the police arrested Maik Schneider, 29, an official in Germany’s far-right NPD party, in connection with the attack.
The hall had been selected to house 100 asylum seekers.
It was burnt down at the end of August, shortly before the first asylum seekers were to move in, no one was injured in the attack.
There have been multiple attacks on refugee shelters across Germany, where anti-immigrant sentiment has come to the fore as the country host an unprecedented number of asylum seekers. (dpa/NAN)
