Abuja – Mr Doyin Hassan, a movie actor and lecturer, on Tuesday called for support for gospel-inspired movies because they set godly, moral standards for the well-being of all.
Hassan made the call during interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Hassan, a popular actor in Mount Zion Gospel Movies, said gospel movies “are decent, never out of relevance, but requires professionalism in its production.”
Hassan, who teaches Marketing at the Faculty of Management Science at Lagos State University, said such movies were inspired by God, to promote His Word and transform the society.
Hassan said gospel movies were scriptural enactments, loaded with intent of passing the message of Christ.
“There is nothing like being in vogue in the Word of God.
“Being in vogue is giving your life to Christ, living a godly and responsible life, and that is exactly what gospel movies seek to portray.
“They are messages pointing you to Christ. They are not like most secular movies or music that showcase provocative incidents, unwholesome behaviour and activities.
“I have been into secular movies too, but I can tell you that there is no disadvantage in gospel movies and it is making massive waves among the children of God.
“It is meant for all, the old, the young, without limitations to viewers

“ It is the word of God, and it is ever constant. The way it was at the beginning, so it shall continue to be. It will continue adding value to humanity, rather than corrupting the society’’, he said.
Hassan started professional acting since 1985 and had featured in celebrated gospel movies as Forgotten Ones, Captives of the Mighty, among others. (NAN)
