Port Harcourt – A former member of the National Assembly, Dr Dawari George, has urged Minister of Transportation to formulate policies that would boost reforms in the transport industry.
George, who represented Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Constituency in the House of Representatives, made the call at a news conference in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
He said the minister, Mr Chibuike Amaechi, had the capacity to turn the sector around in line with Federal Government`s change agenda.
George said that Amaechi performed creditably as speaker and governor of Rivers, adding that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) would benefit from his experience.
Describing him as ‘’agent of development’’, he said that the minister would be useful in the formulation of policies that would address the developmental challenges in the country.

“We are very hopeful that Amaechi will push for a paradigm-shift, laced with clear-sighted depth in repositioning the transportation sector that is of strategic importance to Nigeria’s economy.
“As a family, we joyfully rejoice and congratulate the former governor of Rivers, an astute and charismatic political leader, on his assumption as Minister of Transportation,” he said. (NAN)
