Abuja – Sen. Solomon Ewuga, a former senator representing Nasarawa North Senatorial District, has urged advertising practitioners’ to harness the potential of young people to drive the industry.
Ewuga said this at the opening of the 2017 Abuja Advertising Exhibition organised by the Advertising Practitioners’ Association Abuja Chapter (APAAC), on Wednesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme of the exhibition was; “Advertising in a Diversified Economy’’.
According to him, there are abundant opportunities in the industry that can create employment opportunities for the young people, especially those that are very creative.
Ewuga also urged advertising practitioners’ to produce quality and attractive products that were saleable with a view to making the industry economically viable and sustainable.
Also speaking, Mr Sam Agbi, Chairman APAAC, FCT said that the association would engage the youth and students on a career talk on the abundant potential and economic vibrancy of the advertising industry.
“This is in a bid to catch them young as well as stimulate their interest in the industry, “ Agbi said.
He expressed the determination of the association to develop the industry to a level that it could become a reference point in the country.
The chairman explained that the exhibition of products and services of practitioners was the first of its kind by the association in the FCT.
He expressed optimism that the exhibition would increase peoples’ knowledge, understanding, involvement and participation in the activities of the industry.
“ I am confident that this exhibition will provide opportunity for interaction, rethinking and profound insight into the current trends in advertising and expose our products and services to our audience. (NAN)
