LAGOS – Okechukwu Ibe, the General Manager of Heartland FC of Owerri, on Thursday expressed relief over the sack the team’s Technical Director, Kelechi Emeteole.

“I hear he has been saying it was due to interference of management and other things.
“But the truth is that I feel relieved with his departure. He lacked discipline and handled the club unprofessionally,” the statement said.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
It also stated that the former technical director lacked ability to take instructions from authority and was carrying out directives of his own.

“He fielded a player who went to a night club which is contrary to our code of conduct and the player has been performing poorly because of his off-the-pitch activities.
“I believe he refused to listen to authorities due to reasons unknown to management.
“But, he turned around to allege that we were interfering in his duty,” Ibe was quoted.
Ibe also alleged that Emeteole also refused to make available to the management week nine window, mid-season and end of season players reports.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“I hear he is now accusing his subordinates in the coaching crew of sabotage, but the truth is he never allowed any suggestion and he claimed his experience was sufficient.
“But we still have coaches in Nigeria who have been winning league and FA Cup trophies and they work with people,” Ibe said.
NAN reports that Heartland finished 11th position on the 2013/2014 Globacom Premier League table.
Ibe said that the team was undergoing rejuvenation.
“He is a very good coach, but we finished on 11th position on the league table.
“But no single player was signed in Heartland this last season without his recommending the player.
“He was the coach that started the season and the one who gave the list that was taken to Abuja for registration.
“Now, Heartland will look for a better coach who can win trophies and can be tolerated,” it stated. (NAN)
