Cairo -Egyptian Health Ministry said on Thursday in Cairo that 76 people have died in Egypt over the past five days because of a heatwave.
It said more than 447 people were admitted to hospitals nationwide after suffering heat exhaustion.
The ministry noted that most of the victims were old people.
The state-run meteorology office said the current heatwave, in which temperatures reached 46 degrees Celsius in some parts of Egypt, was the country’s worst in nearly four decades.
