Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Imo State Governor, Hon Emeka Ihedioha has approved the constitution of a committee to review the appointments and recruitments made by his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha in line with the resolution of the Imo State House of Assembly.
The Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Uche Onyegucha who disclosed this in a statement sent to Sundiata Post, said that the seven-man review committee is to be chaired by Mr. Okey Anyanwu.
Other members are Mr. Chukwuma Nwachukwu, Mrs. Ngozi Onyirioha and Mr. Chima Nmeregini.
Others are: Mr. Bismarck Eziohuru, Mr. Justin Amafili and Mr. Donatus Ibe
The committee is charged with the responsibility to evaluate the recent appointments of Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, Solicitor General, Accountant-General, and Heads of Extra-Ministerial Departments.
The committee is also charged to examine all staff recruitment, command promotions, transfers and secondments of officers without following due process – from 2015 to date, applying the Public Service Rules and Regulations.
It is also expected to review all extensions of service period of retired officers and contract appointments as well as investigate cases of officers who were unduly suspended or retired – from 2015 to date.
The Committee shall be inaugurated at the Sam Mbakwe Exco Chambers on Friday, 7th June 2019 by 1pm prompt.
