ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, Minister for Information and National Orientation has accepted to chair the maiden THISDAY Alumni Annual Dinner scheduled to hold on December 16, 2023, in Abuja.
According to Dr. Tony Onyima, President of the THISDAY Alumni Association, other dignitaries invited to the dinner include Mr. Eze Anaba, President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Chief Chris Isiguzo, President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and other heads of parastatals under the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
THISDAY brand has over the years evolved to be Nigeria’s newspaper of record and arguably the preferred newspaper among the business, political, and diplomatic class. Many former staff of the newspaper have gone on to excel in diverse areas such as academia, technology, media, public service, politics, business, finance, law, healthcare, and diplomacy etc.
To show appreciation for this grace, according to Onyima, “we are organizing a dinner/reception in honour of all our distinguished members who recently got public service appointments and for those who have successfully concluded their tour of duty”.
The dinner and reception, he said, “will not only be an occasion to honour our members but will also provide an opportunity for networking and foster bonds among our members”.
