BWARI (FCT) – The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Friday criticised the invasion of its Lokoja office in Kogi by officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Bwari by Mr Fabian Gabriel, the Head of Public Relations of JAMB.
The statement noted that the attack came on the heels of NSCDC denouncing SPYTEC, to be duly registered with it and Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a private security outfit engaged by JAMB.
The statement said “the private security outfit named SPYTEC, engaged to protect JAMB office and environs was duly registered with Cooperate Affairs Commissions (CAC) and NSCDC”.
It recalled that 200 men of the NSCDC of Kogi command on Wednesday July 16 invaded the board’s office in Lokoja, beat up staff and carted away with valuables.[eap_ad_2]
The statement expressed plans to conduct proper investigation to ascertain reasons for the invasion with a view to bringing the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
It also expressed the board’s disappointment over the attack by the corps despite the cordial relationship that existed between the two organisations.
“What a disciplined organisation would have done is to write to the Board and not to expose it dastardly acts to the whole World.”
The statement, however, enjoined JAMB staff affected to be law abiding and refrain from acts capable of bringing disrepute to the board.
It assured the affected staff of the board’s resolve to address the matter amicably. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
