DUTSE – The Jigawa Government on Thursday approved the award N7.5 billion contract for the construction of township roads in two local government areas of the state.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
The Commissioner for Information, Youth and Sports, Alhaji Babandi Ibrahim, made this known when he briefed newsmen after the Executive Council meeting in Dutse.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
Ibrahim said the roads were Gagarawa-Maishieda-Madaka, Kaswadadi-Sankara Road in Gagarawa and Ringim Local Government Areas.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
He said that the 29. 7 Km Gagarawa-Madaka Road would cost N3.7 billion, while N3.8 billion was earmarked for the 29.9 km Kaswadadi-Sankara Road.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”8″]
The commissioner said that the contractors were given 18 months to complete the projects.
He said the council had revoked the contract of Andaza-Asware and Killa-Bindiga-Maruta Road projects and re-awarded them to new contractors.
Ibrahim said the projects were part of 2014 budget and would boost socio-economic activities in the area when completed.
He said that the council also approved N510.3 million for additional work in Dutse highbrow area. (NAN)
