Dutse – Jigawa Government and Federal Mortgage Bank (FMB), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), for the provision of home renovation loans to civil servants in the State
According to a statement from Office of Head of Civil Service of the State, Alhaji Inuwa Tahir in Dutse on Thursday, the gesture was to enable the beneficiaries have befitting accommodation.
The statement quoted the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Establishment, Office of the HoS, Alhaji Musa Muhammad as describing the ceremony as a “remarkable achievement” in the record of civil service in the state.
“For quite a long time, civil servants in the state had been contributing 2.5 per cent of their salaries for mortgage without benefiting from its services.
“The representative of the Federal Mortgage bank, Alhaji Abbas Ahmed Kila, attributed the delay to the inability of signing the MoU.
“But with the present development, about 500 forms have been provided for the take-off of the program in Jigawa.
“I assure you of total commitment of the bank toward successful conduct of the programme.” Kila said.
Alhaji Usman Ya’u, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, reiterated the support of civil servants for the project, noting that it was a great milestone in history of not only the NLC but also the state government.
