ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – President Goodluck Jonathan was in closed-doors meeting on Monday with governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and governorship candidates on the party’s platform in the forthcoming election in a bid to strategies for the polls.
The meeting, which took place at the new Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, begun at about 5.30pm and ended at about 9.10 p.m.

The meeting is a prelude to series of meetings the president has scheduled with aspirants into other elected offices in a bid to ensure they stay focused and loyal to the PDP.
More meetings have been planned with National Assembly aspirants under the PDP at the various geo-political zones of the federation.
President Jonathan, who announced the plan for the meetings in Abuja on Monday, said the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO), Dr. Ahmadu Ali, would announce the dates for the meetings with the aspiring members of the national legislature.
He explained it had to zoned in order not to make them unwieldy but more meaningful.
