Nairobi – Kenya’s central bank said on Friday it planned to mop up 10 billion shillings (98.33 million dollars) in excess liquidity from the money market.

The bank uses repurchase agreements and term auction deposits to absorb the liquidity.
The process makes it costly to hold onto dollars and in turn lends support to the shilling. (Reuters/NAN)
