Abuja – The House of Representatives has set up a seven-member Ad hoc Committee to investigate the causes of incessant clashes and killings in parts of the country.
Chairman of the committee and Deputy Chief Whip of the House, Mr Pally Iriase, made this known while briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said that the committee would approach the assignment with open, unbiased and non-partisan disposition.
Iriase said that the House was aware of efforts by agencies of government to tackle the problem, and would build on them.
He said that his committee would visit selected areas and interact with victims and survivors.
“It will also interact with security chiefs, foreign partners as well as conduct a public hearing.
“The committee has six weeks to submit its report to the House,” he said.(NAN)
