LAGOS – A Lagos State boxer, John Sina, said on Monday that early camping could guarantee the prospects of winning medals at the upcoming 19th National Sports Festival slated for Calabar in November.
Sina told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the capacity of early camping to prepare athletes well for any sports competition could not be overemphasised.
“As a matter of fact, I think it will really help if Lagos State can put us in an early camp to prepare us for the upcoming festival. [eap_ad_1] “I know that I am a prospect and a lot of people always say that to me; but I think that being the best, you need to have the best coaches and be committed to being successful yourself.
“But it will be better if I could have good boxing camping; that would put us in a better shape.“
Sina, who was a medalist in the middleweight category of the “2014 Ibile Games“ held in May, said he was confident of his abilities and urged his fans to believe in him.
“I promise my fans that I will still emerge victorious no matter the cost in my weight category,“ he said. (NAN)
