Dutse – The Gwiwa Local Government Council in Jigawa says it has spent N2 million as scholarship allowances for students from the Local Government Area.
The Chairman of the council, Alhaji Sale Zauma, disclosed this to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Friday.
Zauma said the money was paid to the students whom were pursuing various courses in institutions of higher learning across the country.
He pledged that the council would continue to implement programmes that would impact positively on the lives of the people.
He also disclosed that he had executed various projects in the area which include: provision of water, health care, roads, education and rural electrification since his assumption of office in 2019.
The chairman appealed to the people to give him more support to enable him to provide more dividends of democracy to them.
