Lagos – A 25-year-old man, Michael Ikoro, who allegedly broke into the shop of one Nonso Odist and stole items valued at N150,000 on Friday appeared before an Apapa Senior Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Ikoro, a resident of the Apapa area of Lagos, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and burglary.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Friday Inedu, told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 23 at Ayeke Bridge, Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos.
Inedu said that the accused conspired with others now at large, and stole singlets, boxers and pants valued at N150, 000 from the shop of the complainant.

The prosecutor said that the accused used a sharp object to gain access into the shop at about 11:00 p.m. and stole the items.
He said that the accused was apprehended by security guards who saw him breaking into the shop, with his cohorts.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened the provision of Sections 285, 307 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 285 prescribes three-year jail term for stealing, while Section 409 prescribes two years imprisonment for conspiracy.
The Senior Magistrate, Mr Adeyemi Amos, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned further hearing in the case till July 22. (NAN)
