Man, 26, remanded for attempted murder

Osogbo –  A 26-year-old man, Kehinde Olarewaju, was on Wednesday remanded in Ilesa Prison for alleged attempt to kill his friend, Abiodun Adesanya.

The Magistrate, Mrs Fatimoh Sodamade, who ordered the remand, said the accused should be kept behind bars due to the gravity of the offence.

The prosecutor, Insp. Oladele Joshua, told the court that the accused conspired with others, now at large to attack the complainant with dangerous weapons, inflicting serious injuries on him.

He said that the victim, initially treated in Osogbo, was taken to Lagos for further medical attention.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
Joshua said the accused committed the offence on April 8 at Orita Sabo area of Osogbo, and it took the police months before the accused was apprehended.

He said the offences contravened Sections 516, 80 and 355 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11 Laws of Osun, 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him while the case was adjourned till Oct. 22 for hearing. (NAN)
