Man, 37, arraigned for allegedly stealing motorcycle valued at N75,000

Ado-Ekiti – A 37-year-old man, Femi Araoye, was, on Friday, arraigned at the Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing motorcycle, valued at N75,000.

The accused, whose address was not provided at the court, is facing a two- count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to him.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Leramo Caleb, told the court that Araoye and others, now at large, committed the offence on Sept. 26 at about 08.30 am. at Satellite area, Ilawe road, Ado-Ekiti.

Caleb said that the offence was punishable under Sections 516 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abdulhamid Lawal, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum.

He, thereafter, adjourned the case till Oct. 10 for mention.
