Lagos – A 41-year-old man, who allegedly drove dangerously on a highway and damaged two vehicles was on Thursday arraigned in an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State.
The accused, Mike Okri, whose address was not given, is facing a three-count charge bordering on unlawful damage and reckless driving.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Friday Mameh, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences on May 5, at Alexander Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
According to him, the accused drove a Hyundai truck with registration number, LSD 247 DQ, dangerously on a highway without regard to other road users.
“The accused ran into and damaged two vehicles-a Toyota Camry, valued at N6.5 million and a Toyota Corolla, worth N215, 000.
“The total cost of the two vehicles is N6.7 million,” Mameh said.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 4 (1), 9 and 29 of the Road Traffic Law of Lagos State, 2012.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Miss O. A. Olagbeinde, granted the accused N100, 000 bail, with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case till June 8 for mention. (NAN)
