Mauritius inflation jumps to 4.2% in December

PORT LOUIS  –   Mauritius’ year-on-year inflation rate jumped to 4.2 percent in December from 3.6 percent in the previous month, the statistics office said on Tuesday.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages and transport costs were the main contributors to the increase in the consumer price index in December, statistics Mauritius said in a statement. (Reuters)
