Passengers travelling on MaxAir flight VM1609 from Abuja to Lagos are currently on board and unable to proceed with their flight.
Techinal issues are suspected but the air crew are not telling passengers anything.
Instead, they are not allowing frustrated and agitated passengers to disembark.
Children are crying inside the aircraft.
Our reporter who is one of the stranded passengers right now reports that the aircraft scheduled to leave the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport for the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos at 11:30 am attempted to leave at 11:50 am but after less than a kilometre stopped and had to return to the hanger.
Most Passengers are silently waiting for updates from the pilot but a couple of passengers have requested to be allowed to disembark.
The pilot just came on air now to announce that they are waiting for clearance and pleaded for patience promising that they will fly in six minutes. It is well over 20 minutes.
Some passengers are now disembarking, accusing the airline crew of lying.
