ABUJA- The Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, on Monday in Abuja assured aviation workers of implementation of Conditions of Service of the agencies under the ministry’s supervision.
In a statement by Mr James Odaudu,
Special Assistant to the Minister of Aviation, SIrika further assured of payment of the minimum wage as agreed with the labour unions.
According to the minister, the lofty achievements recorded in the nation’s aviation sector will not have been possible without the commitment and personal sacrifices of employees in the different segments of the industry.
He particularly ascribed the near total achievement of the aviation roadmap to the understanding and cooperation of the workers.
He expressed optimism that the remaining parts would be achieved within the short period before the handover to the incoming administration.
Sirika restated commitment of the Buhari administration to the continued improvement of the welfare of aviation workers through regular trainings, enhanced pay packages, provision of working tools and conducive work environments.
He congrated workers in Nigeria as they joined their colleagues in the rest of the world to celebrate Workers Day.
The minister further congratulated workers in the Aviation Sector for their daily contributions to the running and development of the industry.
Sirika, however, expressed concern over the frequency of workers strikes in the industry which disrupted operations at the nation’s airports, sending wrong signals to the outside world about the safety of Nigeria’s airspace.
The minister wished workers in the sector a wonderful celebration. (NAN)
