Abuja, Jan. 22, 2020 (NAN) The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) says that allegations of misappropriation of its internally generated revenue by the present administration, remains baseless and untrue.
Mrs Patience Olaloye, the Divisional Head Of Information of the council, said this while reacting to the protest earlier carried out by a group on Wednesday in Abuja.
“The Civil Society Organisation raised several allegations but I want to state it categorically that those allegations are baseless and unsubstantiated.
“We have records of constructed roads as well as infrastructural development within the council.
“We want the people and residents of AMAC to disregard the allegations made by the protesters,” she said.
Earlier, a group with the name, Civil Society for Human Rights and Rehabilitation, accused the council of misappropriating of its internally generated revenue.
The group also alleged that the present administration had refused to rehabilitate and renovate most of its dilapidated infrastructures.
It also alleged that contract awarded since inception of the administration was given to family members, as advertisement for contract bidding was not made for the public.
