Birnin Kebbi – Mr Jelani Aliyu, the Director- General, Nigeria Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has urged youths to use technology to connect other parts of the world for the advancement of their future.
Aliyu gave the advice at the 1st Kebbi Youth mentorship lecture and talents harvest in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.
He said that the youths ought to identify their talents in their daily usages of technological gadgets to develop the country and fend for themselves.
“The technologies we use can be sources of inspiration and development in our lives; we should not use them as a source of leisure.
‘’We should not waste time rather we should use time with vivid intent of devising means out of them to develop our lives and our country,” he said.
Aliyu, also advised youths to be bold enough to face their beliefs in the pursuance of their dreams.
“The youths must not let anyone force them do what they had no passion for but engage in concepts with all the energy in the youths.”
The director- general called on the youths to shun any form of drug addiction and intoxicants, stressing that no youths could can be progressive under the influence of drugs.
“Drug addiction is detrimental to the society and development of the youths,” he added.
He also called on Kebbi State Government to encourage youths to study courses they had passion for in order to showcase and bring out their inner talents.
Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, said his administration was committed to the promotion of entrepreneurship innovation.
“In the last two months my administration had increased funding from N20 to N48million to support youths on innovation and entrepreneurship to enable them to achieve their dreams and objectives.
He called on the youths to utilise the social media to improve their knowledge and lives in preference to always attending to entertainment and leisure seeking.
Bagudu also commended Aliyu for the inspiring speech he delivered for youths on innovation and entrepreneurship innovation. (NAN)
