Nasarawa: Commission warns staff against truancy

LAFIA – Mr Ishaku Abari, Permanent Secretary, Local Government Commission, has warned council workers against truancy and nonchalant attitude to work.

Abari gave the warning in an interview News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia on .

He said the commission committed to ensuring that the culture of entrenched in the local government system.

For this, he said, the commission had concluded arrangement to pay unscheduled visits to the 13 Local Government Areas of the state to check absenteeism and truancy among of staff for quality delivery.

“The action becomes following series of complaints from the public concerning local government workers’ attitude to work, as well as high rate of truancy and lateness to duties. [eap_ad_2] “The commission has received series of complaints from the public concerning poor attitude to work, high rate of truancy, absenteeism and lateness by of staff.

“I want to warn those of staff involved in absenteeism, lateness to work, truancy and other fraudulent activities, to either desist or the commission will take appropriate measures against them’’, he said.

According to him, the commission will not fold its arms and watch the local government workers sabotaging the efforts to the state.

He called on the people to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliation for the overall of the country (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
