Keana – The Osana of Keana in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Abdullahi Agbo, has appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be impartial, neutral and fair in the conduct of the general elections.
The monarch made the call on Wednesday in Keana when the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Awe/Doma/Keana Federal constituency, Alhaji Abubakar Hassan-Nalaraba, paid him a courtesy call in his palace.
The first class monarch advised INEC to ensure that the forthcoming rescheduled elections are free, fair, credible and acceptable by Nigerians.
He said that the call became imperative in order to ensure peace and for violent-free election in the country.
The monarch said that one of the most important features of democracy is when the election reflects the attitudes and wishes of the people.
“We want peaceful and violent-free election; both the electoral body and the electorate should conduct themselves peacefully.
“We don’t want violence. Youths and other electorate are advised to shun violence before, during and after the election,” he said.
Agbo also advised eligible voters to come out en masse to participate in the rescheduled elections.
He also called on the nation’s political class to shun all negative acts capable of disrupting the peaceful conduct of the poll.
The monarch blessed and wished the candidate well in his political struggle.
He advised his subjects and other Nigerians to live in peace with one another, irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliations.
Earlier, Hassan-Nalaraba said that he and his entourage were in the palace to seek for the royal father’s blessings.
The candidate promised not to fail the monarch and his constituents if elected into the chamber.
