Lafia – Nasarawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has congratulated the state Governor-Elect, Mr Abdullahi Sule on his victory at the just concluded polls.
This is contained in a statement signed by the council Chairman and Secretary, Mr Dogo Shammah and Mr Usman Muhammad respectively and made available to newsmen in Lafia on Monday.
The union described Sule’s election as well-deserved and a “result of his track records in both public and private service.”
The NUJ urged the governor-elect to exude vigour and commitment in his administration of the state.
It further called on Sule to implement an all-inclusive government by taking all sheds of interest in the state into cognizance.
“While praying God to guide and protect the incoming leadership of the state, we also urge the governor-elect to consider journalists for political appointments in the state,” it said.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sule, the APC candidate, defeated Mr David Ombugadu of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr Labaran Maku of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to win the governorship elections in the state. (NAN)
