ADO-EKITI – The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Ekiti State says it has engaged 20 unemployed graduates for its Graduate Attachment Programme (GAP).
The State Coordinator of the Directorate, Mrs Adeola Shafaru, said this during an orientation programme organised for the beneficiaries on Friday in Ado-Ekiti.
Shafaru said the objectives of the programme were to educate the graduates in terms of conduct, behaviour, public relations, discipline and attitude to work in whatever establishment they found themselves.
Shafaru said the beneficiaries would be attached to organisations for a six-month training to enable them gain practical experience in various fields.
She added that the programme was also aimed at reducing the psychological trauma of unemployment.
Shafaru noted that the participants would be given a monthly stipend of N10,000 each from the directorate while benefiting organisations would also assist with additional funds.
She charged the beneficiaries to pay rapt attention during the programme, and seize the opportunity to gain adequate knowledge on how to become employers of labour. (NAN)
