AKUNGBA AKOKO – Dec. 7, 2015 (NAN) Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, on Wednesday assumed duty.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ajibefun, the Rector, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, succeeds Prof. Femi Mimiko, whose five-year tenure ended on Jan. 4.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Francis Oyabade, led other principal officers and students of the institution to receive Ajibefun at the Senate Chambers where prayers were offered for a successful tenure.

The vice-chancellor, who was accompanied by his wife, Bosede, expressed gratitude to God for the appointment.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
He thanked Gov. Olusegun Mimiko for appointing him to serve the state at another level after completing his tenure as the rector of the state polytechnic.
Ajibefun promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by driving the university toward fulfilling the vision and mission of its founding fathers. [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“I want to thank you all for receiving me. I marveled at the way the university community received me right from the gate and this is a show of great love.
“We are going to consolidate on the achievements that have been recorded particularly in the past five years for excellence in terms of teaching, research, services, academic discipline, and ethics.
