Wednesday’s senior international friendly match between Nigeria and Uganda will be played at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, Uyo, the Nigerian Footbal Federation can confirm.
NFF officials reconfirmed that the Government and people of Akwa State are excited about the game, which pits the three –time African champions against the 1978 Africa Cup of Nations runners-up.
NFF President Amaju Pinnick said “We have been discussing with the Government of Akwa Ibom State over the past few months and nothing has changed. We appreciate the keen interest of His Excellency, Governor Godswill Akpabio in the development of Nigeria football and also the good people of Akwa Ibom State for their ready hospitality at all times.

“We have never had any problem with the Government of Akwa Ibom State. They are desirous of hosting big games at the marvelous venue that everyone calls the Nest of Champions.”
The delegation of Uganda’s Cranes, which arrived in Abuja aboard an Ethiopian Airline flight on Monday, as well as players and officials of the Super Eagles, are expected to be accommodated at the Le Meridien Hotel in Uyo.
