Kafanchan (Kaduna) – The 1 Div of Nigerian Army, Kaduna, has so far attended to over 5000 cases in its medical outreach exercise in Southern Kaduna.
Lt-Col Ogoh Sunday, leader of the medical team, told newsmen on Friday in one of the outreach centres at Bakin Kogi that so far, residents of Kafanchan, Delle and Bakin Kogi, had benefitted from the exercise, which would last three days.
Sunday, who is also the Commander of the Medical Corps of the Division, described the turnout of the local populace as impressive, expressing satisfaction that the aim of the outreach had been achieved
He said the presence of the military was not for occupation, but to cater for the well-being of the people.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the exercise, which addressed basic health needs of the people, was also intended at cementing the relationship between the military and the civil populace.
A cross section of beneficiaries who spoke to NAN described the gesture as heartwarming and commended the Nigerian Army for their kind disposition.
