Ado-Ekiti – The Management of the Afe Babalola FC of Ado-Ekiti on Friday assured the club’s supporters that the team would excel in their first season in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The club’s Secretary, Ayodeji Olowolafe, who gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado-Ekiti, said the team could not wait for the league’s kick off on Saturday.
Olowolafe said that the team had prepared adequately for the 2016/2017 season.
He said the club’s founder, Afe Babalola was determined to give the team the necessary financial and moral support to compete favourably in the league.
Olowolafe said that as the team prepared for their first home match in the NNL on March 18 against Sokoto United, all logistics, including security were ready.
Similarly, the Team Manager, Opeyemi Fabunmi, told NAN that the team was currently in good shape to face their opponents on Saturday.
He said the team had played friendly pre-season games within and outside the state to prepare them for the task ahead.
Fabunmi commended Babalola for empowering youths through sports.
In the same vein, Head Coach, Ademola Agbana, assured the management and the supporters that the team would not disappoint them when the league kicks off.
He explained that the club had recruited talented footballers to enhance the team’s success, especially as they file out on Saturday against Sokoto United at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.
Agbana urged the fans to come to the stadium to cheer the team.
