Kaduna – The National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Thursday called on Nigerian youth to participate in nation building by channelling their creativity and aspirations towards the development of the country.
Galadima Zubair-Soba, NOA Director in Kaduna State made the call while receiving members of Youth for Good Governance, in Kaduna.
He said that youth were important section of the society, as such should be committed to contributing positively to the nation’s economic and democratic development.
“Youth should ensure that you do the right thing all the time rather than allow yourself to be used negatively by politicians.
“Good governance is not solely the responsibility of leaders but also the followers; there is the need for leaders to be transparent and accountable for their stewardship as elected leaders working for development,’’ he said.
The director also urged the youth to key into the Federal Government empowerment schemes, such as the N-Power, where youth were trained in different fields in order to be self-reliant.
Earlier, Chairman of the group, Nuhu Sani said that the main focus of the group was to promote good governance and enrich the capacity and resourcefulness of the youth.
He said that the group also strengthened youth development by fostering unity and advocating for peaceful coexistence among diverse groups.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the NOA director was decorated with medal of excellence for good governance.
