Kaduna – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, on Thursday pledged to provide “water-tight security“ for this year’s Kaduna International Trade Fair.
The state Commandant of the organisation, Alhaji Modu Bunu, made the pledge in Kaduna when he received members of Security Sub-Committee of the 37th Kaduna International Trade Fair.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the annual fair is organised by the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA).
Bunu said that NSCDC would collaborate with other security agencies to provide adequate security at the fair, scheduled to open on Feb. 26.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
Bunu, who was represented by the Corps Deputy Commandant, Ilelaboye Oyejide, said that the command had concluded arrangements to deploy adequate personnel in and around the Trade Fair complex.
He added that surveillance was being carried out ahead of the event, adding that the security monitoring would continue till the end of the fair.
The commandant commended the organisers for taking proactive security measures to ensure successful outing of participants at the fair.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Sub-committee, Col. Dudu Usman (rtd), expressed satisfaction with the services of the corps in the previous editions and urged it to consolidate on the good work.
The chairman appreciated the relative peaceful security atmosphere being enjoyed in the state and urged all security agencies to redouble efforts to maintain the tempo.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that members of the Sub-Committee for the fair were drawn from the NSCDC, Police , Nigeria Customs Service and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Other members include the Fire Service, media and traditional the ruler from the host community, to ensure a hitch-free event.
