LAGOS – A 52-year-old nurse with the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Abiodun Majekodunmi, on Thursday appeared before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over an alleged N8 million fraud.
Majekodunmi, a resident of No. 4, Shomolu Close, Alakuko, Lagos, is facing charges of conspiracy to defraud, possession of fraudulent documents, forgery, obtaining by false pretences and impersonation.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Edet Akadu, told the court that Majekodunmi committed the offences in conspiracy with others still at large at 10a.m on April 25, 2013, at Ren Money Ltd., located at No. 85, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

He said Majekodunmi used nine passport photographs, driver’s licences and other documents in the names of Grace Funmilayo, Oluwatoyin Olanrewaju and seven others to obtain a loan of N8 million from the company.
Akadu added that the accused used the nine different aliases to deceive the company into giving her a loan which she never repaid as promised.
According to the prosecutor, the offences violated Sections 312, 318, 323(1), 363(1) and 378(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 312 recommends 15 years imprisonment for obtaining under false pretences.
The nurse, however, pleaded not guilty to the five-count charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs Joy Ugbomoiko, granted her bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to Nov. 3 for mention. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
