Lagos – OLX Nigeria, one of Nigeria’s classified e-commerce platforms, on Wednesday, urged Nigerians to leverage on its platform to cut down wastage and sell off items that they did not need.
The OLX Nigeria Public Relations and Communication Manager, Miss Uche Nwagboso, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
Nwagboso said that while some companies were right sizing “due to turbulence in the economy,” OLX was hiring and expanding
its service offerings to the country.
She added that “the uncertainties in the economy have not affected us in any way. Instead of right sizing, we are actually hiring.
“The need to expand our service offerings made us to move to a bigger office space at Ilupeju in Lagos.”
Nwagboso said the uncertainties, occasioned by dwindling oil revenues, inflation, among others, called for prudent spending and trading off items individuals and families did not need.
She explained that the company was evolving more innovative ways for Nigerians to become entrepreneurs.
The image maker said the company had engaged a team of forensic experts to investigate any fraudulent activities that might detected in its activities.
She said that the essence was to make the platform more transparent and user friendly. (NAN)
