Constitutional Council.
RDR Spokesman, Joel N’guessan, said in a statement in Abidjan on Wednesday, that the party did not expect that the constitutional council president would resign.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Wodié recently resigned as president of the country’s apex judicial council.
N’guessan said the council was still intact and properly positioned to render services to citizens in spite of the resignation.
“The RDR did not expect the constitutional council president to resign, but this development will not mean that the council has changed.
“This very strategic institution remains unchanged in spite of the resignation; the council is still in place to render its services to Cote d’Iviore ,’’ he said.
NAN reports that following the resignation, the Ivorian presidency, on Tuesday, approved the appointment of former Supreme Court President, Mamadou Koné, as the new president of the constitutional council. (NAN)
