inauguration of its Electoral Committee for elections into the association’s board had been postponed due to lack of logistics.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the inauguration was earlier scheduled to take place on Feb. 2 at the Secretariat of the association.
Talle told NAN that the postponement was also due to communication gap between the committee and the board.
“We were forced to reschedule the inauguration because of communication gap.
“The appropriate persons were not reached on time and this is the reason why we could not inaugurate the electoral committee,’’ he said.
He noted that contrary to speculations, nobody or group of persons interfered with the postponement, adding that FCT FA was an independent body.
“We do not have any interference from anybody and if you know how we run our activities, we are independent.
“But we work in conjunction with other stakeholders, the government inclusive.
“So, I can assure you that nobody anywhere has stopped us from executing our projects or duties,’’ he said.
The chairman gave football fans the assurance that as soon as proper arrangements were concluded, a new date would be announced.
NAN also reports that elections into the board of the FCT FA are expected to hold on Feb. 17. (NAN)
