Lagos- Falade Oyekan, Chairman of the Lagos Divisional Football Association (LDFA), on Sunday reiterated his commitment to the development of football at the grassroots, if re-elected.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that election into the four Divisional Football Associations in Lagos State will hold on Feb. 10.
The other divisions in the state are Epe, Badagry and Ikeja.
Oyekan told NAN in Lagos that the LDFA had witnessed tremendous growth in the past three years due to the development programmes initiated to promote football in the division.

“Through our programmes, we have moved LDFA from where it was to a greater level and we can go higher if I’m re-elected, to continue where I stopped.
“Many young talents were discovered through our viable league and competitions we organised to ensure the development of football at the grassroots.
“One of our major sponsors in the division is the Lagos Channel Management Ltd, which bankrolled our annual Goalz Schools Event.
“The event is used to mark every Independence Day celebration,’’ he said.
He assured that coaches in the division would be supported to garner more knowledge to coach budding talents that would be identified.
“We sponsored two coaches to the National Institute of Sports and we intend to continue in that line, to boost their capacity to do the needful,’’ Falade added. (NAN)
