Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Presidential candidate of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has said that his party’s rally in Kaduna marked a huge turnout and was a huge success.
This is also as he has commended the security agents and the party supporters for foiling the attempt of agents of anti-democratic forces to disrupt the Kaduna campaign.
Atiku gave the commendation on Monday via his twitter handle @atiku. The tweet reads:
“I wish to commend the efforts of security agents and our supporters in foiling the attempt of agents of anti-democratic forces to disrupt the Kaduna @OfficialPDPNig campaign. Notwithstanding, the rally marked a huge turnout and was a huge success. -AA”
Sundiata Post recalls that earlier in his tweet, the former Vice President said he just received emergency reports of attacks on @OfficialPDPNig supporters by thugs sponsored to scuttle the ongoing PDP campaign rally in Kaduna State. This is undemocratic and against the Peace Accord all parties signed up for just a few weeks ago.
I have just received emergency reports of attacks on @OfficialPDPNig supporters by thugs sponsored to scuttle the ongoing PDP campaign rally in Kaduna State. This is undemocratic and against the Peace Accord all parties signed up for just a few weeks ago.
He therefore urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call on all parties to call their supporters and members to order and to ensure that campaigns, just as with the elections themselves, are kept free, fair and safe. -AA
