…Takes Soyinka down memory lane on what racism entails

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the comment credited to the Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka to the effect that “Obidients are racists”, saying that the fact that the criticisms against the outcome of the general elections remain peaceful and civil is an achievement we fail to appreciate.
The federal lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central senatorial district at the 8th National Assembly, took Soyinka down memory lane to 2011 when northerners opposed to the ambition of Buhari was considered an infidel. Reminding that after that elections, mobs resorted to violence and invaded the homes of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and killed their family members and burned down their houses. Stressing that if those were not fascists, Peter’s guys are not,” he said.
Shehu Sani”s reaction was contained in a couple of tweets via his verified Twitter handle @ShehuSani:
The tweets read:
The criticisms against the outcome of the general elections remains peaceful & Civil. It’s a major achievement in our democratic history that we are failing to appreciate.Yes, It’s not quite & its never going to be quiet. If it’s quiet then it’s not democracy.
In 2011, any northerner opposed to the ambition of Buhari was considered an infidel. After the elections, mobs resorted to violence & invaded the homes of members of the PDP & killed their family members & burned down their houses. If those were not fascists, Peter’s guys are not.
In a similarly reaction, NeferTitii @firstladyship has slammed Wole Soyinka over his outburst against Obidients, saying that Wole Soyinka’s calling the Obidients fascists is part of the plan. Their grand plan is to demarket Peter Obi internationally They unleashed Lai Mohammed in stage 2. Expect more from international press. But we are ready to counter all their agenda.
