Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Plateau State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has expelled one of its stalwarts, Abdullahi Adamu, over alleged anti-party activities.

Adamu’s expulsion was announced in a letter jointly signed by Grace Zamfara and Bulus Kaze, Chairman and Secretary, respectively, and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Jos.

Adamu had an agreement with Gyang Zi, the candidate of the party for Plateau North Senatorial District in the last general polls.

Adamu, who earlier got the ticket of party to run for the Senate seat for Plateau North, later agreed to be replaced by Zi.

However, with the latest judgment of the Appeal Court that ordered a re-run in Plateau North, Adamu is now claiming to be the authentic candidate of the party, insisting that his name has been on the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Labour Party, however, accused Adamu of hobnobbing with the opposition to create unnecessary conflict within the party, hence the decision to expel him.

The Plateau LP stated that the expulsion followed thorough investigation, adding that Adamu was later found guilty of the allegations against him, particularly working against the interest of the party.

”The leadership of the party has been following your anti-party activities which include colluding with the opponents against the interest of the party.

”You have been circulating false information about Gyang Zi, our candidate for Plateau North in the last general elections and the forthcoming rerun elections.

”Your action is a gross misconduct and you are hereby expelled forthwith from the party,” the letter stressed.
